You may have heard about this: calls to your business through Google Assistant. The idea is that Google Assistant is on your mobile phone to help you get things done. It has many other detailed items available, like to keep track of a users calendar, orders, etc. More excitingly, Google has linked Assistant with Google My Business. With this update, Google launched calls to businesses to set up a meeting/visit or check your business hours.
This is currently available for any Android devices running version 5.0 or newer and iPhones with the Google Assistant installed.
Have you been on Google Earth? And have you entered your business name? I am sure most people do this on Google Maps, but Google Earth could be a potential location for certain types of businesses.
As you can see above, your business can be pinned in its location, even on Google Earth. Google has copied some of the information your location with your Maps page. Here is an example of both views for us here at One Site Marketing:
This week’s post is a reminder that since Google+ is shutting down for many users. Do not forget that Google allows you to obtain your current information through the 30th of March. Have you been using your phone to search for something specific? And then one site that comes up and seems perfect for the information you need suddenly takes what feels like forever to open? Sure, it could be due to your connection with websites. But the reality is that it is the site itself. What do you do — patiently wait or just go to the next site on your search query?
The simplest way to get more visitors to return is to be outright with your purpose and how you can help them, along with sharing any information your website may collect. Once your clients are sure and trust you, they will visit you more frequently.
Google recently posted an article about developing your trust, “Want to earn user trust and drive marketing results? Start with these steps”. Their piece goes through the importance of focusing on the information that some websites collect with each visitor. It especially states, “The General Data Protection Regulation, also known as GDPR, has significantly impacted how the personal data of European users can be collected and used. Regulation is also heating up in the U.S., with legislation being considered at both the national and state levels, and the passage of a new privacy law in California.” Their biggest support is to let us know that can collect certain information, but we must share what data we collect from our visitors, as well as how we get that info from them.
You may have heard about multiple methods to sell to your clients. There are many popular ways – online and offline advertising, social networking, and ——-. One of the newest methods to entice your visitors is through Augmented Reality (AR), also known to give clients virtual views of their product in their own world.
Globally-known company Lego recently launched a temporary pop-up shop in London. When a client enters the “shop”, there is nothing there but the blank white space. The customer is asked to take a photo of the snapcode. Then, they will be able to virtually see the store through their phone. Items that they like are linked to their Lego Wear online shop.
Lego is not the first site to create a method for people to shop from home. Amazon has launched the Echo Look device almost two years ago. The Echo Look is an at-home photographer who will tell you which outfits look better on you. It will also recommend clothing it sells that may go with your outfits.
